AI remixed version of a protest song, written and recorded in January 2026, after the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

For a long time, it seemed as if America was in a state of shock at the speed with which the Trump administration was reshaping the country in an increasingly authoritarian direction. But after the ICE-related incidents at the beginning of 2026, I felt a shift among the American people.

I sensed a voice—long suppressed inside many desperate citizens—crying out for peace, solidarity, and resistance against the brutality and ignorance of those who pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States while, at the same time, trampling its values and principles.

Feeling that voice is what led me to write this song.

SUMMARY

The song expresses a heartfelt call for liberation, hope, and inner strength in the face of hardship and oppression. What begins as a personal plea to be released from pain grows into a collective message of resilience, using music and shared voices as symbols of endurance and choice. The repeated request to be “freed” reflects a longing to overcome fear, shame, and controlling forces, while the later sections broaden into a call for unity, honesty, and renewal. At its core, the song is an anthem of perseverance, urging people to stand together, reclaim dignity, and rediscover peace and the ability to truly breathe again.

Free Me

Music / Lyrics: AdMeyer – Christian Meyer-Pedersen

[verse 1]
You know after shadow
There will always be light
This is what I’m praying for
With all of my might

Please give me a reason
For not to give in
Cause as long as there’s hope
I will go on to sing

[chorus 1]
Free me
Come on and free me
Come on free me
From this pain

Come on and free me
Go on and free me
Cause I want to
Breathe again

[verse 2]
From this day on forward
I’ll be singing this song
In the darkest hours, when I Need to be strong

Please lend me your ears
Please lend me your voice
Cause as long as we sing
We still have a choice

[chorus 2]
Free me
Come on and free me
Come on free me
From this shame

Come on and free me
Go on and free me
Cause I want to
Breathe again

[chorus 3]
Come on and free me (free me)
Go on free me (free me)
Come on free me (yeah)
From this king (aaah)

Come on and break the ICE (break the ICE)
Go on stop the lies (stop the lies)
Make the whole land (oh oh)
One again (one again)

[chorus 4 – single child singing]
Free me
Come on and free me
Come on free me
From this king

Cause we’re Americans
We’re all Americans
And we want to find
Peace again

[chorus 5]
Free me
Come on and free me
Come on free me
From his reign

Cause we’re Americans
We’re all Americans
And we want to be
Proud again

Free Me
